A New Type of Farming
Cultivating the magic of the edible plant world for your table
Passionate farming advocate Leah Rodgers of Friends of Family Farmers, an organization working to promote and protect socially responsible agriculture in Oregon, transforms her new residential property into a community supported agriculture (CSA) urban farm. CSA’s has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. To learn more you can visit their social media page at Facebook, www.facebook.com/RockwoodUrbanFarm.

As a maker of photography I feel that people, expression and presentation are all factors to execute an effective portrait. To encapsulate the essence of a person is to connect and engage while giving the individual an opportunity to, within a second of time, express who they are.
The photographs below were made in studio at The Art Institute of Portland during my BFA program. The subjects range from strangers, faculty, friends and other photo students.
Halloween Portraits, Portland, Oregon, 2013
My close friend Meredith and her fiancé David just moved into a stunning condo with a view of downtown Portland. I photographed them on a Saturday morning and followed them to the Portland Farmers Market just two blocks away. They had fun telling their story and I had a blast making the photographs.
Brides for a Cause Celebrates One Year with a Weekend Anniversary Event

Business owner Erin Scharf opens her doors for a special weekend event by offering 20% off already discounted dresses. Brides-to-be, moms and their friends make their way to NE Alberta and 20th Avenue to find the dress of their dreams. I had a fantastic time dancing around the action and capturing the connections between the dress and the future bride.

A HEALTH DRIVEN COMMUNITY
Photography by Erica J Mitchell
I recently photographed the Open House Event for a local holistic service Vitalize Acupuncture, located downtown on 10th Ave and SW Washington. They offer a wide range of services from acupuncture, herbal medicines and massage to dietary meal planning and skin care solutions. As a patient of Acupuncturist Jessica Kolahi, and Health Care Coach Erica Blair, I can advocate the success of their services.
Please enjoy a review of the festivities from the Open House Event from October 17th, 2013!
