As a maker of photography I feel that people, expression and presentation are all factors to execute an effective portrait. To encapsulate the essence of a person is to connect and engage while giving the individual an opportunity to, within a second of time, express who they are.
The photographs below were made in studio at The Art Institute of Portland during my BFA program. The subjects range from strangers, faculty, friends and other photo students.

On location Portrait Photography session with model and actor Kai Kani. We use two locations and six outfits with the intention of capturing a conceptual artistic portrait, high fashion and sports for his modeling agency portfolio.
I had the pleasure of photographing KaiKani Vanity just recently. He was photographed previously in my Portrait Series which you can find here. It was a blast! We had a set list of images that we needed to execute for his portfolio which includes modeling, acting and stand-up comedy. The locations ended up becoming spontaneous and photographs we got were as much fun as I had anticipated working with KaiKani. Below is a sneak peek from our awesomely-fun photo shoot!
