Between Monterey and Santa Cruz is Moss Landing where four giant motorcycles, each with a unique theme, were on display out side of J&S Army Supply. Each bike used reclaimed material such as horse shoes, license plates and scrap metal. My favorite by far was the horse shoe bike!

Capitola Elementary was closed in the spring of 2004 due to the minimal enrollment and overcrowding of the neighboring middle school. However, the garden lab still remains and is maintained by the students of NBMS (New Brighton Middle School).
The students of Capitola Elementary created a compass rose of the four cardinal directions nearby the garden lab.
Beyond the school busses used to be the recess playground for K-5th grade. Now is a parking lot for the staff of the middle school.

A common “One Less Car” sticker is displayed on a bike lane sign.
Just north of the Seacliff State Beach which is home to the “Cement Ship” (See recent blog post: S.S. Palo Alto), lies the New Brighton State Beach. It is a wonderful walk.
